The corners inside the case also have a little cut-out, giving the case air pockets on the corners to absorb the impact of a drop and, of course, the thick back of the case means that the rear of your phone is well protected. The front of the case sits above the display glass and wraps around the sides, giving it a secure fit that won’t accidentally pop off. Thanks to the design of the case, it looks to offer a good degree of protection across your entire device. Cards are also easy to remove thanks to a notch on the left-hand side of the case, allowing you to push them out. I was able to easily fit in three cards and if you needed to add some notes in there, I don’t imagine it being too difficult to do so. The main feature of this case is the wallet functionality, the case essentially has another layer to the back of it which houses the storage for your cards and notes. A notch in the case is used to push out the stored cards. The buttons around the case are embossed and a smooth texture in comparison to the grippy texture of the case, making them easy to find in a rush, the buttons also have a good clickiness to them and don’t feel too mushy. The large cut-outs also mean that you can use chunky third-party cables without the case getting in the way. The case also features spacious cut-outs for the microphone, speaker, Lightning port and mute switch, making them easy to access and use. If you’ve seen our review of Smartish’s Grip cases, you’ll also recognise the grooved sides of the case, which are subtle but do help with giving your fingers a comfortable place to rest when holding the phone – these grip features are even more important with a case of this thickness as without them it would likely be uncomfortable to hold. ![]() The case has a grippy feel to it with textured sides which help you get a secure hold on the case. The variant of the case I have been testing is the “Chefs Special” colour, which has a wooden-looking print on the back of the case with black sides. 1, the case is quite a thick case with plenty of space to accommodate up to 3 cards and some notes, however, this thicker construction doesn’t add much extra weight to your device.
